What does it mean to wear a python or a bulb of garlic? Or a cardboard crown or dung beetle?

David Bielander (b. 1968, Switzerland) is a key figure in the international field of contemporary jewellery who plays with the appearance of things to create uncanny objects imbued with sly humour and intrigue. Moths, pythons, prawns, fish, crowns, corn cobs, flowers and slugs – his jewellery works question notions of identity, belonging and connection through material dissonance and ambiguity, their wonder and delight enhanced by his exceptional artisanal skills and material knowledge.
