Square Peg Studio invites you to a special Zoom lecture with Daniela Malev: A Journey through the History of Fibulas, Brooches and Pins.Daniela will take us on a whirlwind journey through 5000 years of brooch history - from ancient fibulas to contemporary art jewellery - with a special focus on the evolution of pin mechanisms and the often-overlooked importance of brooch backs in design.
We’ll explore examples from Daniela’s renowned book To the Point, as she shares valuable insights into the function, form, and thoughtful integration of pin mechanisms in modern brooch design.
This lecture is for makers and brooch lovers alike.
