The Jewellery and Metalsmiths Group of Australia – NSW Inc. in partnership with the Australian Design Centre presents Profile: Contemporary Jewellery and Object Award. This biennial members exhibition presents a diverse group of 73 national and international contemporary jewellers and object designers. Their work considers concepts from the personal to topical, crafted across a wide material range from precious gold to plastic waste.

Events: Contemporary Jewellery Conversations

This conversation hosted by contemporary jeweller and academic, Dr Zoe Veness, contemplates key themes that emerge across the Profile exhibition with a panel of Profile artists. Following the panel, meet the makers as we walk through the exhibition for a floor talk discussing their works.

Profile: Contemporary Jewellery and Object Award - Exhibition Tour

Join a guided tour of Profile: Contemporary Jewellery and Object Award, Thursdays at 2pm through August and September. This 30-minute tour will take you through the key themes, makers and their works, with the opportunity to meet a maker working at the Profile Jewellers Bench.

When: Thursdays at 2pm - 18 & 25 August 1, 8 & 15 September

Profile Jewellers Bench
Meet local jewellers and object makers working at the jewellers' bench on Thursdays through the exhibition - an opportunity for visitors to chat with them about their processes and craft.

$2,000 - General Category: open to any current member of the JMGA-NSW Inc.

3. JMGA-NSW Emerging Contemporary Jewellery Award
$1,500 -  Emerging Category: open to any current member who is a full time student or who has been practicing for no more than five years.

4. The Australian Design Centre Award
Opportunity to exhibit in ADC’s window gallery Object Space in 2022.  In consultation with ADC.
